HOW IT ALL BEGAN - from dirt bike to cattle

Chris Wilshire developed an interest in the cattle business at a very early age because his family has had cattle and registered breeding and show horses for over five generations in the North Texas area.   In 2003, at age fourteen, Christopher traded a dirt bike for three Angus calves and that began a business venture that has grown to over 250 head on 1300 acres in four different locations in three different counties in North Texas. Encouraged by his business partner and dad, Chris formed Rockin W Cattle Co LLC in January of 2006.

In 2007, Chris was awarded the TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his accomplishment with Rockin W Cattle Co LLC by Congressman Roger Williams on behalf of Rick Perry, then Governor of Texas. He was also awarded the Calvary Gold Award for Outstanding Accomplishments in Entrepreneurship in 2007. He is a 2011 Graduate of Texas Christian University and an Eagle Scout. He is also President and partner at Wilshire Consultants Inc., Financial and Tax Services.

As managing member and owner of Rockin W Cattle Co LLC, Chris maintains membership in the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattleraisers Association, American Quarter Horse Association, and numerous committee memberships in the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. In addition, he is Chairman of the Equine Scholarship Committee at the FWSSR.   

Rockin W Cattle Co LLC is sad to announce that Christopher Wilshire, our founder, a prominent financial advisor and cattle rancher, passed away on October 21, 2022. The business operations will be continued in his honor by his father and partner, Rick Wilshire, and his wife and partner in life, Tayla Wilshire.

We are a premier Black Angus cow/calf operation that began doing business in 2003. We are involved in the buying, selling and breeding of quality Black Angus cattle.
